The Opticis USB-FC30AA is a USB 3.0 active optical extension cable designed to transmit SuperSpeed USB data at up to 5Gbps over extended distances without the need for external repeaters or local AC power.

Using advanced VCSEL (Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser) and photodetector (PD) technology, the USB-FC30AA enables secure and reliable USB data transmission through a hybrid fiber cable that integrates optical fiber with electrical wiring. This design delivers long-distance performance while remaining cost-effective compared to pure optical solutions.

The cable features USB Type-A male to Type-A male connectors and supports bi-directional transmission, eliminating the need to distinguish between transmitter and receiver ends during installation. Its plenum-rated UL hybrid cable construction makes it suitable for in-wall and ceiling installations where fire safety requirements apply.

The USB-FC30AA-10 operates from the 5V power supplied by the USB host, requiring no external power source. Connected USB devices must be self-powered for proper operation. Optional accessories, including a short A-to-B copper cable and a locking housing, allow compatibility with Type-B devices such as cameras and USB hubs.
